By participating in the Sustainable Berlin Commitment, we are committing ourselves to eleven guiding principles of sustainability and thus becoming a visible part of the Berlin movement. Certification topics include respectful, resource-conserving and responsible behaviour, sustainable products and services, creating an attractive working environment and promoting diversity and equal opportunities.

The Sustainable Berlin Commitment is for all Berlin companies in the tourism and event industry.

Towels in guest rooms are only replaced upon request.
Room cleaning: Our guests have the option to forgo room cleaning entirely.
We primarily work with local partners, such as: Domberger Brotwerk, Müritzfischer and vollgepackt.
Gutshof Weng: As one of only two restaurants nationwide, we source our meat exclusively from the BIO-certified Gutshof Weng – evidence of our uncompromising quality standards and our conviction that excellent cuisine begins with selecting the finest raw materials.
Hospitality: We use eco-friendly packaging, such as reusable containers, and rely on reusable tableware, cutlery, and glassware to fulfill our environmental responsibility.
Catering: We provide guests with carafes of mains-supplied drinking water and ensure they are continuously refilled with fresh water. We also take care of the timely removal and cleaning of the glass carafes.
Building / Energy Consumption: In all meeting and conference rooms, we maintain a maximum room temperature of 20°C, and cooling is set to no more than 6 degrees below the outdoor temperature. In addition, we prioritize natural daylight where possible, optimize lighting controls, and use efficient sun shading to save energy and improve room comfort.
Equipment: We use dishwashers with top energy efficiency ratings. When selecting IT devices, printers, or multifunction devices, we choose products that minimize environmental impact and carry the “Blue Angel” eco-label.
Kitchen waste: We collect kitchen waste and used cooking oil separately to ensure environmentally compatible disposal.
Waste separation: We have separate collection systems for paper, organic waste, glass, lightweight packaging, and metal. In addition, we minimize packaging waste by using reusable containers and requiring our suppliers to take back packaging. We order in bulk and use recycled cardboard for carton packaging to reduce our environmental impact.
